My husband loves pizza. I think he might actually turn into a piece of pepperoni soon. He's also a very picky eater, so I've tried to come up with "healthier" alternatives to ordering pizza. This recipe is so fast and easy, it's a definite go-to meal for any busy family!
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf French bread (I used a garlic Parmesan baguette from Trader Joe's)
- 1 jar of sauce (you can use marinara, pizza, or even spaghetti sauce. Whatever the fam prefers)
- 1/2 package shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20-30 slices of pepperoni, or other toppings
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Heat sauce in medium sauce pan on stove.
- Cover large baking sheet with foil. Spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cut loaf in half, then cut each half length-wise. Lay quarters on baking sheet. Inside of bread facing upward.
- When sauce is warm, spoon just enough to cover each quarter loaf lightly. Pour the rest into dipping bowls.
- Add mozzarella, pepperoni, and/or toppings of your choosing.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and toppings are cooked.
- Serve with remaining sauce and dunk away!
That's it! So easy. So fast. So delicious!
